KÄTHE KOLLWITZ

Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945) was a revolutionary print maker, whose powerful compositions had a profound impact on expressionist and figurative art of the 20th century. At a time when few women were represented in the academies of Europe, Kollwitz was a respected professor, and pioneer in the subjects she portrayed through technically rigorous practice.
